In 1140 a battle was fought in Germany and a castle taken. The king made the men of the castle prisoners but bid the women to leave in peace, graciously allowing each to carry her treasure with her. Imagine his surprise as he witnessed an astonishing procession winding down the hill—each woman carried her husband, son, father, or brother on her back! The king was so moved that he granted freedom to all and sent the women back to collect their material wealth.
Last Sunday, Pastor Nick again focused us on loving God and loving people. He asked us 4 questions. These questions pinpoint our priorities, our treasures. Do we make the choice to value the people in our life or do we choose to hoard our possessions? As you worship God this week, daily ask Him to increase your love for Him and your love for people.
