Amazing grace, how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me. I once was lost but now am found; was blind, but now I see.
What beautiful words—penned by a formerly wicked sea captain and set to a contemporary bar tune, the music he was familiar with. I have sung this song set to 6 different tunes; and in spite of the style differences, the words never lose their power. They show the great contrast, the great gulf between ourselves and our Savior. It’s the same truth that inspired the artist to paint the picture displayed in the back of our sanctuary. Try to take some time Sunday morning, to gaze at the picture and thank God for delivering you from darkness into light, from death to life.
As 40 – 50 different voices lift these words in praise to God Sunday morning, there will be that many different stories of God’s grace remembered. And while the experiences have been different, we are united as one voice in thanking Him and praising Him for the things He has done. As we sang last week, It’s what the Lord has done in me!
When we join together in worship, let’s not become distracted by different words, different tunes, different personalities, different stories of salvation, or different levels of maturity, but let’s single-mindedly give our attention, our hearts, to praising the works of God.

Scroll Down For Words To "Come Thou Fount"
Come Thou Fount of every blessing, tune my heart to sing Thy grace;
Streams of mercy, never ceasing, Call for songs of loudest praise.
Teach me some melodious sonnet, Sung by flaming tongues above;
Praise His name - I'm fixed upon it - Name of God's redeeming love.
O to grace how great a debtor daily I'm constrained to be!
Let Thy goodness, like a fetter, bind my wandering heart to Thee;
Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it, Prone to leave the God I love;
Here's my heart, O take and seal it; Seal it for Thy courts above.
Amen.
