Call to Worship

August 29, 2010

Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name. Psalm 100:4

The first song we will sing this Sunday morning as we gather to worship starts out—Here I am, and I have come to thank You Lord for all You’ve done. THANK YOU, LORD! Perhaps you may want to be thinking of this ahead of time. Maybe prepare a list of things that you personally want to thank God for. Bring it with you and offer it in worship to God.

I think that a thankful heart is a key to proper worship. Ungratefulness squelches joy, sets up barriers to intimacy, and indicates a lack of humility. So I encourage you just as the psalmist did to enter His gates, this week especially, with thanksgiving.
