Call to Worship
August 1, 2010
This morning I heard some interesting noises in the basement. Upon investigating, I found that my children were having an argument. However, instead of yelling, they were singing to each other (or maybe at each other) back and forth. Needless to say, they found that it was hard to stay angry while communicating this way. By the time the (short) argument was over, they were smiling and laughing.
There is something special that takes place when we sing together. It reminds me of a verse I often quote to my children—How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity! Psalm 133:1
Come to worship this Sunday and seize the opportunity to join your voice in unity with those nearby, lifting praises to the God Most High. I pray that in so doing, your own spirit will be encouraged and filled with joy.
