To see with the eyes of Christ, to possess His heart, to be able to reach with His arms, to love others as He does, we must first see Him, know Him, experience Him. Trying to fulfill the call of the song on our own would be like looking at the world through squinting eyes, reaching out with shriveled arms, and loving with a weak love that’s prone to fail.
This week in worship, we’ll be singing these words--Open the eyes of my heart, Lord, I want to see You. Let’s come prepared to pray that prayer together; be prepared to see Him as He is revealed in worship; be prepared for Him to give us His eyes to see and love those in our community.
